You know I almost didn't credit my favourite clothing company for the t-shirt that is photographed here. Howies not only gave me a free replacement t-shirt when I crashed off my bike and was cut out of it by a paramedic (it had this same slogan on actually) but they also come up with the best designs and craft all their t-shits from organic, fairly traded cotton and apply exceptional ethical standards to all their business.

Or at least they say they do and frankly, I believe them.

Do you think that every generation will have a thing where parents say to their children "I remember when all this was ..."?

Just as my (hypothetical, stereotypical) father would say to me "Son, I remember when all this was fields" I can quite easily conceive of a future where I might tell my son: "Son, I remember when all this was Smoking. When you could just walk down the street and light up. When people actually used to smoke inside pubs and the staff there would get lung cancer and die. When you would go out for a night on the town and would come home stinking like an ash tray whether you'd been smoking or not. When you would often walk into a restaurant only to find the air so choked with smoke that you wouldn't even dream of eating there. When tobacco didn't even come with a health warning!"

In case you were wondering, and I know you weren't because surely no-one even reads this blog (yet?), but in case you were wondering why I posted the picture of The Door then I will now enlighten you.

Consider, for a moment, opening this door to be the trigger for an epiphany. If you were to open the door what would you find behind it? Would it be the secret of nuclear fusion thereby solving the world's energy needs? Or would it be a vaccine for malaria or HIV?

Or would it simply be the mundane truth that yesterday I acquired a new mobile telephone which was manufactured by Sony Ericsson who automatically configure all their new handsets to post to Blogger?
